A new mentorship program at Penn State Beaver is bringing together students and campus advisory board members.
The idea for the program came out of the Penn State Beaver Advisory Board Academic Advancement Committee, whose members work with Director of Academic Affairs Carey McDougall.
This week — Non-Traditional Student Week and Veterans Day — Penn State Beaver acknowledges our veterans and our other students who became a part of the campus after serving our country or taking the time to explore other avenues.
The official celebration may have been delayed because of Covid, but the Penn State Beaver women’s basketball team was still riding a wave of excitement when they were recently recognized at a ring ceremony for their USCAA 2019-20 National Championship win.
Penn State’s THON may be very different this year because of the on-going pandemic, but dancers across the university, including from Penn State Beaver, will still be on their feet to raise money for the cause.
Like so many other things, COVID-19 has changed college athletics, at least for the time being. But the Penn State University Athletic Conference was determined the athletes would still compete, even if it meant in an unconventional way.
A dedication ceremony for the new Dr. Donna J. Kuga Pavilion is planned for Oct. 23. The pavilion has been built in honor of the late Kuga who dedicated 40 years of her life to the Penn State Beaver campus.
