The world is really big – 200 million square miles big – and you ache to explore every inch of it.
But you also long for the security of having a place you can return to; something to call yours, somewhere to call home.
Penn State Beaver can give you both.
We are a small campus offering several world-class degrees (and the first two years of 275 more), youth programming, and workforce development. So whether you’re a traditional student who wants to live in our recently updated residence hall and study abroad, or a non-traditional student looking to accelerate your career or acquire the skills to get workforce ready, you can be part of the Beaver family.
Our staff will invite you into their offices and help you find your way. Our diverse and nationally recognized faculty will know your name and your study habits. And they might just ask you to join them on their groundbreaking research, like creating mobile apps for Pennsylvania farmers; seeking out new methods for diagnosing autism; and helping to eradicate white nose syndrome in the region’s little brown bats.
Our student body is increasingly multicultural, and multi-generational, hailing from just down the road and across the world. And they care as much about the community around them as the grades they’re making in the classroom, the organizations they’re leading on campus and the national championships they’re winning on the court and field. They have nurtured a community garden, helped clean up an ailing river town and created a water-aiming device for rural fire departments.
In turn, the community supports our students, providing internships, job opportunities, and money toward scholarships, which more than 80 percent of them receive. And we’re working side-by-side with industry leaders on an innovation hub that will allow students and entrepreneurs to collaborate on forward-thinking, economy-changing ideas.
Those are just some of the ways we’re all working together to make the community around us a better, more-connected place.
Because at Penn State Beaver, we are more than just a 100-acre campus. We are part of the world. And we are right here.
We Are Penn State.
