Penn State Beaver summer sports camps are always popular with local youth. This year the volleyball camp saw continued attendance growth, and the campers had a chance to work with a special guest coach.
The presence of a second species of ramp, Allium burdickii — commonly known as narrow-leaved wild leek — has been documented in southwest Pennsylvania by a team of Penn State researchers in a new study. This plant species never before has been documented in the state, and the researchers suggest the discovery shows a need to protect remaining populations of the plant.
The University College at Penn State is the collective administrative umbrella for 14 of Penn State's campuses distributed throughout the commonwealth. A key area of the college is the records office, located at the University Park campus, where work is done to help support the successful graduation of students and assistance of faculty and staff across the 14 campuses.

People visiting Penn State Beaver or passing by campus on Old Brodhead Road may notice work at the entrance: The J.P. Giusti Amphitheater at the campus entrance will be torn down and replaced with natural landscaping and a space for students and the community to gather.
Penn State and Monash University in Melbourne, Australia, announced the awarded grants of the third round of the Collaboration Program, a jointly financed seed program with the aim to collaborate on research and education projects. The first two cycles of the program provided funding to 34 projects. The two institutions committed these seed funds for a third round, and funded five projects around the topic of Global Challenges or Matters of Bilateral Importance to Australia and the United States.
Carey McDougall, chief academic officer at Penn State Beaver, has been named the campus’ interim chancellor, effective July 1. McDougall succeeds Chancellor Jenifer Cushman, who recently was named president of the University of Maine at Augusta. A national search will be conducted to find a permanent chancellor for Penn State Beaver.
