MONACA, Pa. — Baizhou Chen, a certified public account with extensive professional and teaching experience, will join the Penn State Beaver faculty as an instructor in accounting this fall.
Chen has been teaching in the business and accounting department at the University of Minnesota since 2011, where he serves as the founding adviser for the school’s first accounting society. He also works as a senior assistant controller for Oracle Corp.
“I am excited to have Baizhou Chen join our business faculty as he brings strong industry experience that our students always find beneficial,” said Director of Academic Affairs Carey McDougall.
Chen will teach classes both face to face at Beaver and online at World Campus.
Chen earned his baccalaureate degree from the University of Minnesota and his master of business administratoin from St. John’s University, where he was selected to participate in the executive-in-residence program.
Chen began his career in New York City at Ernst and Young, where he worked in assurance and advisory business services and dealt with global clients.
He also previously taught at Buena Vista University in Iowa.
