The campus shuttle provides transportation to and from locations that students typically can't access via public transportation, including local shopping areas, weekend entertainment venues, and locations where various club activities are held. Transportation to and from the Pittsburgh International Airport and downtown Pittsburgh are also offered at the beginning and end of each semester.

At the beginning and end of each semester, the Office of Residence Life offers transportation to and from the Pittsburgh International Airport and Pittsburgh transportation stations, such as the Megabus, Amtrak, and Greyhound stations.
- Sign-up information about transportation will be posted in Harmony Hall. In addition, a reminder to sign up will be emailed to students a few weeks prior to the closing of the hall.
- Students who are interested in transportation must complete the online Transportation Request Form. - The shuttle driver is ONLY available on specific dates that are scheduled in advance. When booking your travel tickets, please keep in mind that the driver may not be able to accommodate transportation needs that are scheduled very early or very late in the day. In order to accommodate the needs of as many students as possible, the driver maintains a strict schedule. Sometimes students may need to arrive early or wait to be picked up, depending on the driver's schedule.*
*Please note that transportation services are not available if a student is traveling at a time other than when the campus opens or closes. Each student is responsible for finding his/her own transportation to and from his/her destinations during times other than the campus opening or closing.
Wednesday Night Shuttle
Every Wednesday night throughout the semester, the campus shuttle is available to transport students to a variety of local shopping and entertainment sites. There's no need to preregister for the shuttle as it operates on a first-come, first-served basis.
This provides students with an opportunity to stock up on necessities, especially during the winter months when it's difficult to walk to local stores.
The campus shuttle picks up students at 6 p.m. in front of Harmony Hall. The local shopping area includes Walmart, Staples, Boscov's, JCPenney, Dick's Sporting Goods, the UPS Store, Target, Kohl's, Ross, Marshalls, Michaels, Pier 1 Imports, Lowes, the Beaver Valley Mall, and many other retail stores, all within one mile of the campus.
Cinemark Movie Theater
On Wednesdays students may view any film that's currently showing. The campus shuttle is available in the evening and picks students up starting at 6 p.m. in front of Harmony Hall. Pick up time is determined by the driver at the time of drop off.

On most Saturdays throughout the semester, students have an option to leave campus to attend activities hosted by Penn State Beaver and/or to catch the campus shuttle to various designated locations. The campus shuttle typically runs on Saturdays and takes students to various shopping and/or entertainment venues in the Pittsburgh area. Information about each week's trip is posted on the bulletin board in front of Harmony Hall. The shuttle service is free to all students, but students must register in advance for shuttle use. Following registration, any remaining seats will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Weekly emails will be sent to your Penn State email with destination and registration information.
During the semester the Office of Student Activities offers several trips to various entertainment venues. These scheduled activities provide students with the opportunity to attend events at a reduced rate, and transportation is included in any fees. All activities are advertised on campus. Students must register to attend by visiting the Student Affairs & Engagement Office (SUB 113).
For International Students Only
International students often need transportation to various locations in order to obtain a Social Security card and/or a Pennsylvania driver's license, to make or keep medical appointments, or for other personal reasons.
Specific dates/times are arranged for students to sign up for transportation to these locations. Students will be notified via email of transportation availability.
Shuttle Do’s & Don’ts
Please note: The campus shuttle is limited to use by Penn State students, faculty, and staff only.
- Use of campus shuttle services is a privilege, not a right. Personal use of the shuttle may be taken away at the discretion of the Office of Student Affairs.
- The shuttle driver is not available at all times. All shuttles are scheduled in advance.
- The shuttle is not available for personal transportation requests.
- All students using the campus shuttle must sign in with their name, student ID, and phone number.
- All riders must wear a seat belt. No more than one person is permitted to occupy one seat.
- Please be courteous to others in the van. Refrain from vulgar language, loud music, or loud discussions.
- You are personally responsible for your belongings. The shuttle driver doesn't load or unload your luggage. Anything you leave behind will be turned over to Lost and Found.
- If you miss the shuttle, you will be responsible for finding alternative transportation at your own expense.
If a student needs to cancel his/her transportation pick up, the student must contact the driver by calling 724-417-8191 at least two hours prior to the scheduled pick-up time.
Failure to follow this procedure will count as a "no show" for the student. If you're running late for your pick-up time, you must alert the driver as soon as possible to determine if there is a later shuttle time available. If the shuttle is unable to accommodate you, you'll need to find alternative transportation at your own expense.
The first time a student signs up for transportation services but does not appear, the student will be given a "no show" warning. If a student fails to contact the shuttle driver, that will count as a "no show." If the student misses a pick-up a second time, the student will no longer have any access to shuttle service. In this instance, the student is then responsible for finding alternative transportation services during residence hall closings. By submitting the Transportation Request Form, you're verifying that you have read the No-Show policy.
