Support the Campus Closet
Donations of new or gently worn suits, business apparel/accessories, and cold weather clothing are accepted by the Penn State Beaver Campus Closet. Please help a student in their professional journey.
What would you wear to a job interview? What kinds of clothing would be appropriate for a student experiencing their first winter in western Pennsylvania? That's exactly the type of clothing we're looking for to distribute to our students. Suits and other processional apparel can furnish our students with the confidence to enter or return to the workplace, make a great first impression, and land a job that could change their life. A warm coat, hat or gloves can help a student who is unfamiliar with the unpredictable weather in the northeast and finds themselves unprepared for that first snowstorm.
What to donate
To help our students, the Penn State Beaver Campus Closet is collecting the following clean, new or gently used business professional, business casual items, and cold weather gear:
- Skirt suits
- Pant suits
- Blouses
- Blazers
- Dress slacks
- Jackets
- Dress shirts
- Oxford shirts
- Ties
- Solid color polo shirts
- Appropriate length skirts
- Dress shoes
- Belts
- Coats
- Gloves
- Hats
- Scarves
- Boots
- Sweatshirts
To be sure that the professional attire you're considering donating is appropriate, ask yourself whether you would feel comfortable wearing it on a job interview. Think coordinated, conservative, contemporary, and interview-appropriate.
When considering what is appropriate cold-weather gear, ask yourself if the item is appropriate for a student experiencing winter in western Pennsylvania?
If the answer is yes, then the clothing would be perfect for us!
