As we are all aware, remote learning is taking over at this time. I am actually doing so much better than when we first started! Although I do enjoy being on campus much better, I have really gotten used to this! I think that I actually have gotten closer with some of my professors through this remote learning. The majority of my classes have been meeting at the same time and going very smoothly.
Now that we are about a month into this new way of learning, I have had multiple tests and presentations. When I heard about taking a test or giving a presentation online, I had no idea what to expect. Taking a test online was easy as could be. When it was time for my first presentation, I was super nervous for some reason. All I had to do was show everyone my screen and talk, another easy assignment!
Overall, ending this semester online was not what I wanted or expected, but let me tell you, I am not complaining! All in all, everything is going great and I am glad to have had this experience. Hopefully we can get back onto campus face-to-face soon, but if not, remote learning won’t be THAT bad.

As a student here at Penn State Beaver, I looked forward to going to campus and seeing my friends every day. I loved walking into my classes and seeing everybody. It was a great experience for a first-year student like me.
When Penn State had brought up the idea of the online classes because of COVID-19, I was confused as to how that could possibly work. How would students get internet access if it they didn’t have it at home? How would we all meet on time? Many questions were brewing in my head.
Not being able to see my friends, professors, and having the in-college experience sure didn’t sound like any fun to me. I was dreading the thought of online classes. My friends and I were always texting one another complaining about how horrible this is going to be. I never could’ve imagined having all online classes until it finally happened.
When the first day came around, I didn’t know what to expect. I was hesitant at first, not knowing what to do. After I logged on and got onto my class, I kind of enjoyed it. It wasn’t as bad as I had expected. After the first week, I really liked it. Some professors made us turn our video cameras on and show our faces, while others didn’t care if they were off. We had meeting times on a certain website for class.
Online classes were actually very convenient. It was just like being in an actual classroom, though it was more comfortable. Although I loved being on campus in class, this online thing worked out great, and I didn’t mind it one bit!
