University-wide Scholarships
Awards to both first-year and upper-division students are made by the Office of Student Aid, which typically begins its review in March (prior to fall semester enrollment). All students are considered for scholarships automatically. Most scholarships are merit and need-based and awards average approximately $1,500 a year.
The Faculty Senate also provides University-wide scholarships. Funding is limited and reserved for upper-division students. All students are considered automatically for the awards. The scholarships are extremely competitive and only awarded to the very highest-achieving students.
Administrative Unit Scholarships
In addition, scholarships are offered by some Penn State administrative areas, such as Athletics, Education Abroad, and Student Affairs.
Students with Disabilities
The Office for Disability Services offers more than 80 scholarship awards annually to students with disabilities at all Penn State locations.
