The Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technology (EMET) program blends electrical and mechanical engineering skill sets into one powerful degree that is in growing demand for the rapidly developing fields of industrial automation and robotics.
Why Penn State Beaver?
At Penn State Beaver, fundamental concepts in engineering are reinforced via hands-on labs, design projects, and a capstone experience. Students will invent, create, test, and improve computer-controlled systems while building expertise that leads to careers in automotive, energy, aerospace, and manufacturing fields. The labs offer students the opportunity to learn how to use current technologies and industrially relevant tools including CNC routers , 3D printers, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), materials testing equipment, electric motors, mechanical drives, and robotic arms.
The EMET program is accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) ensuring that our students graduate from a vetted program that meets global standards for technical education. Students graduating from an ABET accredited program possess a competitive advantage in the job market, assuring they are prepared for critical roles.
What will I study in EMET?
You will take a combination of electrical and mechanical course work including linear and digital electronics, computer aided design, concepts in product and production design, data acquisition, and process control.
