
Biography
Daniel Smith, associate teaching professor of business, teaches project management, corporate strategy, contemporary issues in management, professional selling, negotiation for business professionals, preparation for the business internship. He is also the Business Internship Program Coordinator.
Smith blends technical expertise, global perspective, and real-world application in his classroom to teach students skills including market research and Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats analysis. He teaches Experiential Digital Global Engagement classes which pair Penn State Beaver students with students at international universities to complete a project.
Smith integrates digital tools and case-based instruction to ensure students are ready to meet the demands of a global workforce. Students particularly value his negotiation simulations where groups advocate for an interest and compete against each other, simulating real life business experiences. In their senior year, business students participate in the Penn State Start-Up Project, a multi-disciplinary project team.
