Biography
Ashu Kumar, assistant teaching professor of information technology, teaches courses in cyber security, data management, emerging technologies including generative AI, and management information systems.
Kumar emphasizes hands-on learning and engagement in the classroom. He equips students with real-world skills by integrating modern tools like generative AI.
Recent assignments have had students design board games with AI-generated prompts and produce personalized graphics they feel represent themselves. Students learn about cutting-edge technology and the fields they can enter after graduation. Students also have opportunities to become teaching assistants or intern for the Beaver Valley LaunchBox to learn on a deeper level and acquire more industry skills.
