The Happy Valley Latin Festival, a one-day music and arts festival bringing together Latin music, art and crafts vendors showcasing the vibrance and diversity of the Latinx/Hispanic culture in Central Pennsylvania, will be held Saturday, Sept. 14, 11 a.m.–5 p.m. in the Martin Luther King Jr. Plaza, 127 South Fraser Street, downtown State College.

In collaboration with the Center for Performing Arts, Eddie Palmieri, a veteran of the New York Latin music scene and intergenerational Afro-Cuban sound, will continue his 60-year-plus legacy by leading a performance of his Eddie Palmieri Salsa Orchestra onWednesday, Oct. 23, at 7:30 p.m. Follow this link for tickets and more information.
Sonia de los Santos will come to Penn State University Park to sing and play instruments traditional to her hometown in the state of Nuevo Leon, Mexico. She playfully weaves Spanish and English in songs about making new friends and moving to New York. De los Santos will perform as part of Children’s Day, on Sept. 22 at Schlow Library in downtown State College, and also in a "Matinee with Sonia De Los Santos" on Sept. 23 in Eisenhower Auditorium.

Events continue through October as Penn State units at campuses across the commonwealth celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month, observed each year from Sept. 15 to Oct. 15. This year's overall theme is “Unidos en la Diversidad: Celebrating our Roots and Honoring our Heritage."
