Preview of Fall 2020 Classes

We're ready to welcome students

Penn State Beaver faculty and staff have been preparing to welcome our students back to campus this fall. The health and safety of our campus community has been at the center of our preparations.

We look forward to welcoming you to Penn State Beaver this fall!

Our faculty and staff have been preparing all summer for your return. Your health and safety, and the health and safety of our entire campus community, are the top priority as we get ready for the new academic year. We would like to share some of the strategies and plans the University has in place to address the coronavirus.

Some of these steps include pre-arrival testing, quarantine strategies, testing of symptomatic and suspected positive individuals, and safety requirements for everyone on campus. Penn State is following CDC guideline and state mandates.

Masks, sanitizer and distancing

Everyone must wear masks while on campus. The University will be providing cloth masks for every student, faculty, and staff member.

Hand sanitizer stations will be located at convenient spots around campus.

Social distancing will be required on campus. Our classrooms and common areas have been assessed and set up to facilitate this requirement.

Welcome Home

Take a look at how our classrooms have been set up to accommodate social distancing.

Zoom rooms

A number of spaces with computers have been set aside for on-campus students to attend online classes via Zoom. You can get a list of the rooms on the campus COVID resources map. All Zoom-enabled computers are first-come, first-served, and you'll need to bring your own headset.

Student requirements

Before returning to Penn State Beaver, all students must:

  • Read and sign the new required Penn State Coronavirus Compact, which outlines the expectations for the semester. The compact is available in LionPATH.
  • Complete the mandatory pre-arrival COVID-19 testing, if notified. Students living in select counties across the United States with high infection rates will be contacted by the University on an individual basis to complete mandatory testing. Check your Penn State email regularly for this information.
  • Self-quarantine for at least 7 days immediately prior to arrival.
  • Review Penn State and local requirements for masking and social distancing.
  • You can find the latest information on student health requirements at virusinfo.psu.edu/back-to-state. You can also find campus-specific information on our Coronavirus FAQ page

Penn State Go app

The Penn State Go app also has lots of information about our campus. One feature of the app is the ability to place mobile orders for our Brodhead Bistro to help facilitate social distancing guidelines. The app can be downloaded from the Apple AppStore and Google Play.

The app also includes a daily symptom checker students are encouraged to complete every morning. See Penn State News for more information.

Above all, be a student

We are committed to supporting our students and working together to help everyone have a successful 2020-21 school year.
