Karen Barr, MBA, is an associate teaching professor of business and the business program co-coordinator. She teaches financial and managerial accounting, small business management, corporation finance, basic management concepts, and social, legal and the ethical environment of business.  

In Professor Barr’s classroom, students can expect to learn business fundamentals, including accounting and finance, through engaging lectures, group assignments, and real-world case studies. She incorporates research-based semester-long project-based group learning where students develop critical thinking and systems and strategic thinking.  

Professor Barr’s classes prepare students for a future in corporate careers as well as careers in non-profit and government entities across all fields. Students gain a strong foundation to become entrepreneurs and are prepared to get advanced degrees, such as a master's in business administration (MBA).
