From his work on fundraising campaigns to his support of events and activities, John Hertneky’s continued dedication to Penn State and especially the Beaver campus has earned him the 2023 Outstanding Alumnus of the Year award. Hertneky was presented with his award at a Jan. 25 event.

Frankie Checchio, reference and instruction librarian and student athletic academic liaison, supports student-athletes in their academic endeavors and has helped students go from being ineligible to play to making dean’s list.
Jill Tress, who passed away in November, was the coordinator of the Center for Academic Achievement at Penn State Beaver for 12 years, overseeing tutoring and disability services. She is remembered for her many contributions to the campus.
