Penn State announced $200,000 in new seed grant funding as part of the University's Invent Penn State Initiative. The four campuses receiving grants — Beaver, DuBois, Greater Allegheny and Hazleton — bring to 21 the number of Innovation Hubs across the Commonwealth.

Local nonprofit funds scholarship at Penn State Beaver

Penn State Beaver has received a $50,000 award from Lincoln Learning Solutions that creates a scholarship endowment to support need-based financial aid for academically-qualified students. Recipients of the scholarships made possible by this gift must be majoring in a degree program that focuses on science, technology, engineering or math.

UHS to collect student health insurance information for 2017-18

Penn State is moving toward a University-wide health insurance requirement for the 2018-19 academic school year. In preparation for the new requirement, University Health Services (UHS) will begin collecting student health insurance information in May 2017.

Penn State Beaver’s former interim chancellor has died

Donna Kuga died March 8 following a long illness. During her nearly 40 years at Penn State Beaver, Kuga served as a professor, coach, athletic director, director of academic affairs, and interim chancellor.

Beaver campus’ inaugural CEO has died

Joe Giusti, who served as the Beaver campus' inaugural CEO from 1965 to 1979, died on Jan. 30 in Harrisburg. He was 81.
