Nominate a student to speak at Beaver's commencement

Beaver faculty and staff are invited to nominate a student commencement speaker for the Dec. 16 ceremony. The deadline for submitting nominations is Nov. 16.

Researcher who uncovered new species of human ancestor to speak at Beaver

Anthropologist Heather Garvin was part of a team of scientists that, in 2013, discovered 1,500 fossils from a new species deep in an elaborate South African cave system. It's been called "one of the greatest fossil discoveries of the past half century." Garvin will speak at Penn State Beaver on Nov. 9.

Oct. 6 marks kick-off event for University’s diversity and inclusion initiative

On Oct. 6 the Penn State Beaver community will come together to help kick off an ongoing University-wide initiative that brings students, faculty and staff together to show their commitment to cultivating a diverse and inclusive environment — respectful of everyone regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, age, sexual orientation, abilities, background, veteran’s status, political beliefs, and all the ways we differ.

In high school, Xiaoying “Eva” Zhou spent a week living with an American family in Pittsburgh. Upon returning to her home in Shanghai, Zhou immediately began hatching a plan to attend an American university. She chose Penn State.
