Penn State is committed to fostering an environment free from sexual or gender-based harassment or misconduct. The Office of Sexual Misconduct Prevention and Response ensures compliance with Title IX, a federal law that prohibits discrimination based on the sex or gender of employees and students. The University does not tolerate behaviors, including sexual harassment, sexual misconduct, dating violence, domestic violence and stalking, as well as retaliation for reporting any of these acts. The University is also committed to providing support, resources and services to those who may have been impacted by one of these incidents.
If You Are Assaulted

Get to a safe place as soon as you can.

Do not bathe, shower, douche, use the toilet or change clothing.

Try to preserve all physical evidence.

Contact the police by calling 911 or campus police at 724-773-3888. (From a campus phone, just dial 3888.)

Seek medical attention as soon as possible. If you can, take a change of clothing to the hospital.

Contact a close friend who can be with you until you feel safe again. Your friend can also accompany you to hospital, doctor, police, etc.

REPORT AN INCIDENT

Report to police: You have the right to file a report with law enforcement as well as the University. You can file a criminal complaint with the University Police Department or local police department, depending on where the incident took place. For on-campus crimes, contact University Police at 724-773-3888. For off-campus crimes, contact the local municipality police department or call 911.
