Members of Penn State Beaver's Student Success Committee make mugs of root beer floats for students at the start of the fall semester as part of the annual "Missed Your Mug" event under the Kuga Pavilion. The event is one of several events organized by the committee to celebrate students on campus. Students also are encouraged at the event to write their goal for the year on a banner.

Student Success ‘most holistic endeavor on campus’

Penn State will celebrate its ninth GivingTuesday on Tuesday, Nov. 28 — and Penn State Beaver invites alumni and friends to participate by showing support for the Student Success Committee, which is dedicated to helping students adjust to college life and to supporting their academic and personal success.

Class of 2024 votes to establish the UPUA Basic Needs Endowment

At an event held on Oct. 31, leaders from the Student Philanthropy Network announced that the class of 2024 has voted to create the University Park Undergraduate Association Basic Needs Endowment as their class gift. The fund will provide sustained support for students facing hardships in pursuit of their degree.

Speaker series to feature arborist, biology professor

Trees, how they can have a positive impact on local communities, and forestry research will be the upcoming topics of The Current’s next speaker series event. Sponsored by RiverWise and Penn State Beaver, certified arborist Jeff Karwoski and Penn State Beaver Assistant Professor of Biology Autumn Sabo will be the featured speakers for this free community event on Nov. 29 at Penn State Beaver.
