CE for Personal Care Home Administrators

The following courses are approved by the PA Department of Public Welfare for personal care home administrators.

These courses comprise a two-day session (twelve hours of continuing education) on Friday, March 24, 2017 and Saturday, March 25, 2017.

Meeting Supervisory Responsibilities (3 Hours)

This course prepares the participant to:

  • Describe the key skills and practices associated with supervision
  • Understand when to adjust leadership style to suit the situation.
  • Understand the supervisor's role in setting and enforcing standards of workplace conduct

Communicating Effectively (3 hours) 

This course prepares the participant to:

  • Identify processes and tolls that enhance communication
  • Identify different types of communication styles and determine which is appropriate in the workplace
  • Identify barriers to effective communication and learn how to eliminate them

Building Work Relationships (3 hours) 

This course prepares the participant to:

  • Understand how interpersonal styles can explain the differences in how people interact and relate with others at work
  • Recognize the various factors that influence your behavior and the behavior of others
  • Describe characteristics and building blocks associates with high quality relationships

Leading Others (3 hours)

This course prepares the participant to:

  • Describe the characteristics of effective leaders
  • Build skills to provide leadership and direction to others
  • Evaluate the delegation process and effectively implement specific task delegation
